Meeting called to order by Jim Senz at 7 pm

Jim pointed out that this was the coolest summer in 42 years, but the water temperature was at 78 degrees. Pump goes on at 10am and off at 6:30 pm

Two new members from Berkeley from Pool Party on the 21^st.

A party wanted to rent the pool and clubhouse for Saturday August 21^st with 30 kids

It was suggested OK at $5 per guest for pool and $200 for club house

Swim teacher promises to pay 10% of gross at end of season, he wants something permanent next year. He will become a member. Mid day and 4 pm competitive swimming

He thinks the pool is too cold

No attempts were finally made to fix the crack in the pool. We seem to be able to live with it.

Small problem with Environmental Health inspection - Pool life saver (ring) was missing

Pearl not renting clubhouse for August - too hot

Ideas for improvements were discussed

Photo voltaic panels considered

Jim thinks we should focus on the clubhouse since it is in use 12 months per year

Projects: Kitchen, floors, bathrooms

Work on ADA compliant bathroom

The plumbing for the bathrooms should be upgraded to copper

Chris will work on plan to build one

Unanimous vote to remove dance bars from walls.

Tom recommends window shades, will discuss with his neighbor who is in the business

Chris got agreement that we should get rid of the old stereo in the corner by the kitchen

Critical path: Kitchen then floor

Joerge suggested community garden. Chris was concerned about its appearance, deer, fence, etc.

Tom mentioned that his church rented out garden plots 5x10

Oak Springs Pool

Meeting 07-07-10

Called to order 7:15pm - Jim Senz was not present

Present:

Kathy, Chris, Melanie, Brian, Ingrid, Mike

Pool covers pulled by Margeaux Nguyen $20 per day

Brian and Ingrid to try next Tuesday to put sealer in cracks

Sealer is on hand

We plan to get more keys

Will move banner from Freeway to fence

We should approach city for a deal on nose in parking

Cut off renting parking lot

Next year make sure we hand out BBQ and Free Swim tickets at Orinda 4^th of July parade

Possible advertisement on Safeway carts. About $800 fro 45 to 50 carts for 4 months

Kathy: Consider 10 guest passes for new members - settled on 5 passes after discussion

The banner cost us $35 to hang - paid to City of Orinda - good for three weeks

Chris has used Craigslist for Clubhouse rentals successfully

Karen Norris arrived as we were breaking up - she had the emails of people who had expressed an interest in joining

Called to order 7:05pm

Kathy says Kurt will update the Web Page. We will be able to use pay pal, post the minutes, etc.

CC Health Dept. Bill went because he is the contact for access, they came 05-22-10

Suggested key change for pump room

We hope to open this weekend

Bill reported that the solar heater is working, started heating today. We hope the warmer water will help with the sealant for the leaks. The old paint that we used up is drying slowly, is still sticky

We will change keys for this year

Chris wants to track down people for photos. Swap keys for photos.

Sarah Douglas contributed cash to run add in the Orinda News this week.

Escrow on the parking lot to close tomorrow - Net: $107,000 approximately

Priorities: floor, kitchen, bathrooms, fence and parking issues

We are paying $250 per month to rent back parking lot as long as we need it.

Pearl is still renting the club house

Melanie ordered banners

Jim put a screen on the window of the bathroom

Jim presented sketch of proposed parking

We broke to tour Bill’s miraculous plumbing job for the solar heaters, which are now heating the pool.

Reminder, hope to open in 2-1/2 weeks.

Bathroom window needs screen to keep out varmits.

Lot sale on extension at Old Republic Title in Orinda

Hope to avoid needing to get use permit - parking for parking switch of 9 spaces, Realtor has sketches.

Social Membership is not discussed in by-laws.

Herwood moved we go forward with easement issue for noise and use of pool

Chris seconded

Board approved

Sarah Douglas donated $100 for advertising to get the pool going this year.

Committee will work on hand out and post fliers

Suzanne and Brian volunteered to clean up restrooms

Brian and Ingrid volunteered to help with sealing cracks in bottom of pool, wearing wet suits if needed.

They have diving gear if needed.

Chris pushing for photos, however we still have no membership chair

Also need Website manager

Suggested Day use for $50 pass

Pool heater should be cut off 20 minutes before the pump is shot off. Heater is 28 years old.

Jim will work on banner - Next meeting 7pm June 2^nd.

Long discussion on sale of lot and need for money

Discussion of pool and club house needs

Discussion of Friends of Oak Springs Pool perhaps with $50 membership

Board meeting called to order at 8:15pm

Bill: Pool leaks - need to heat water to get epoxy to work

Talk about filling out applications on web site

Pay with paypal - won’t work for hot weather days when people want instant membership

Escrow on lot to close in 10 days

Advertising in Montcarion seemed to work

Decided to open
